As the oldest of four, I have always been a leader and I have gladly embraced the responsibilities that came along with the position. Being a leader has led me to work with young people in various capacities in church, as a teacher, group leader and/or director for more than 20 years. I have worked in various women’s ministries and do what I can each day to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood by being a good friend and good listener. My greatest joy comes from knowing that someone has been encouraged because of my intentional influence.
I live in Southern California with my husband and we have a blended family of 5 adult kids and 4 grandkids. I’m in the “sandwich generation” as I’m blessed to still have both my parents. I really am doubly blessed to have a stepmom and stepdad, both of whom have been part of my life since I was a child.
I am a graduate of Dale Carnegie and Speechcraft training. Since I am never short on words, I have been fortunate enough to turn my love of talking and storytelling into writing. My writing led to writing scripts as a playwright and in August 2013 I became a magazine columnist with Women of Standard magazine (www.womenofstandard.org). My column, titled “On the Potter’s Wheel”, focuses on personal development.
