Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season, which is a happy time for the majority. However, it is also a time of sadness and depression for others as they reflect on holidays and precious moments shared with loved ones who are no longer here. The void that death leaves is so great that many feel there is no reason to celebrate. May I offer a different perspective? Be thankful for the wonderful memories created with your loved one.
If you and your loved one had traditions that you no longer wish to honor, it’s fine to create new traditions…life is meant to be lived.

Embrace this truth: Life is short. Spend your time wisely.
Anyone who knows me well will tell you that I LOVE celebrating my birthday! I make endless announcements leading up to my special day and I love spending time with those I love. While it may seem a bit cocky for me to devote so much time and effort to celebrating my birthday, it’s really not about me at all. It’s with a grateful heart that I look back at where the Lord has brought me from that causes me to want to shout from the mountaintops that “I MADE IT another year”! THAT is why I celebrate the way I do!
I know it’s nothing that I’ve done to deserve God’s continuous grace and mercy; He has graciously allowed me to see one more birthday and I’m THANKFUL! My testimony is not in how good I’ve been, but how GREAT God is! That is a reason to celebrate!
